With the advent of 2019, the holiday season is officially over. And though we've taken down the tinsel and cleaned up the ticker tape from our New Year's party here at Rick Case Hyundai of Roswell, there's still plenty of reason to celebrate. You see, the 2019 Hyundai models are here!

Now, if you're as big a fan of the Hyundai brand as we are, then you've no doubt heard that there are a lot of new features, technologies, and design updates coming to the Hyundai portfolio in its 2019 model year. And if you're looking into a new car in the new year, you probably want to know a bit about what's on the horizon for the Hyundai brand so that you can pick the sedan or SUV that best aligns with your lifestyle. Luckily, we've always prided ourselves on being a resource to our customers when it comes to keeping up with the latest that Hyundai has to offer, which is why we're only too happy to break down to the latest changes and updates to show you what's new with the Hyundai brand for 2019.

From forward-thinking electric vehicles to big changes to popular nameplates, the 2019 Hyundai SUV portfolio looks stronger than ever before!

There's a lot of big changes coming to the Hyundai SUV lineup, so let's dive right in with new models. The Hyundai brand is bringing in two new SUVs for its 2019 model year, and what's more, both are electrified! The first is the new 2019 Hyundai Kona Electric pictured above, a small SUV that's practically perfect for modern urban commuters.

Despite its lithe, geometric form, the 2019 Hyundai Kona Electric is plenty powerful, boasting up to 201 horsepower and 290 pound-feet of torque. What's more, with an EPA-estimated range of up to 258 miles on a full charge, the 2019 Hyundai Kona Electric is one of the few electric vehicles that you can actually take out on a road trip...and you can even skirt traffic snarls because it's eligible to use the HOV lanes. How cool is that?

But while it's surprising power and eco-friendliness are primary selling points for the 2019 Hyundai Kona Electric, it's not without its creature comforts. In fact, while many electric SUVs may sparse with their interior amenities, the Hyundai Kona Electric comes available with features like a Head-Up Display, Infinity® Premium Audio, Wireless Device Charging for compatible mobile devices, and much more.

Of course, as futuristic and forward-thinking as the new 2019 Hyundai Kona is, the next electric vehicle coming to the Hyundai lineup this year goes even further. The 2019 Hyundai NEXO is a hydrogen fuel cell-powered flagship SUV designed to optimize for efficiency. With dedicated fuel cell architecture, the 2019 Hyundai NEXO is lighter and quicker than many of its rivals, yet has a refueling time of as little as five minutes.

Now, electric and fuel cell vehicles may be perfect for many drivers, but many more are still drawn to conventionally powered Hyundai SUVs. And we're happy to report than mainstay models like the Hyundai Tucson and Hyundai Santa Fe will enjoy plenty of welcome changes for the 2019 model year as well.

First, let's talk Tucson. The 2019 Hyundai Tucson is a great car for small families, particularly if you're the sort that loves having cutting-edge safety features on your side.

  • Right out of the box, the 2019 Hyundai Tucson comes standard with useful tech like Lane Keeping Assist, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, and Driver Attention Warning.
  • Spring for the 2019 Hyundai Tucson Limited with Ultimate Package, and you can add on more safety tech like a Surround View Monitor, Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, and High Beam Assist.

On the other hand, the Hyundai Santa Fe and Santa Fe Sport of last year have undergone perhaps some of the most significant changes in recent memory. For the 2019 model year, the five-passenger Santa Fe Sport of last year becomes to the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe, while the seven-passenger Hyundai Santa Fe of last year is now known as the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe XL. In addition to these name changes, both models see notable feature updates that make them stand out in the ever-competitive SUV segment.

  • With a new front end design that features stacked LED lighting elements, the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe exudes an aura of athleticism and modernity that's hard to look away from.
  • With smart new safety tech like Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian Detection and Safe Exit Assist, the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe excels at traveling in densely packed urban areas.
  • Outfitted with a lively 2.4-liter GDI engine and available Head-Up Display, the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe ensure nothing distracts you from the simple joy of navigating the road ahead.
  • Tech lovers are certain to appreciate how easy to use the new AVN 5.0 infotainment system is for the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe XL, which offers navigation, HD Radio Traffic, and a faster processor for better response times.

  • Unlike many compact cars, the 2019 Hyundai Elantra promises a strong stylistic statement with its updated front and rear end design, new wheel designs, and available LED headlights.
  • Safety-conscious drivers will love the new Hyundai SmartSense technologies available on the 2019 Hyundai Elantra, including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keep Assist, Driver Attention Alert, and Safe Exit Assist
